Clouds Will Break – Scotland

[Photos taken in 2018 by Brenda Hall unless otherwise stated]

The Cameron family home, where William was born, was Cullalo, located on the banks of the River Tay at Newburgh, Fife, Scotland. Cullalo has now been divided into a number of apartments.

The Calder family home was Yetholm Mains, located alongside Bowmont Water, on the Scottish side of the border with England. The farm’s paddocks run up to the Cheviot Hills. The old house is tenanted, and a newer home behind it was, when I visited in 2018, still occupied by the owner, a descendant of Francis Calder.

The Robertson family home, where Jeannie was born, was Nottylees, located near Sprouston / Kelso. The house looks over the Tweed Valley, and fields run down to Redden Burn.
